Would you support this campaign to demand that Frontex lends its ships to protect the refugees and migrants who have been left to freeze in Europe?

Have you ever had to take a shower outdoors? Have you ever had to shower outdoors when it’s -8℃? There are currently tens of thousands of people in Greece and in Serbia who know what that’s like. They are living in makeshift camps (tents, abandoned warehouses) with no heating. They don’t have adequate clothing, nor the proper shoes (some are in flipflops). They are forgotten, and they are trapped. They are the casualties of Europe’s inhumane migration policies.

Whatever you may think about allowing people to enter and travel through Europe, one thing is certain -- as Europeans we cannot allow other human beings living in Europe to freeze to death. This is the coldest winter in four years. And while politicians squabble over quotas, returns, deals with dictatorial leaders all in the name of a more 'efficient' migration policy our fellow human beings are dying from cold in our own backyard.

A long-term solution is necessary, but an immediate one is a question of life or death. A Greek navy ship is currently hosting 500 people to provide them with some shelter and warmth. But there are thousands of others who need help. Frontex, the agency which is funded by our tax money to control Europe’s borders, has many ships at its disposal already patrolling the sea, and could do the same.
