A whole European Citizen’s Initiative to #StopGlyphosate

We know what a constant use of Glyphosate will mean for us, the people of Europe: sick people, dead animals, burnt grass, brown leaves, and a loss of biodiversity. Last year, we were able to block Monsanto’s plans in ways they did not expect. But it’s not over, and in 2017 they will be fighting hard to extend the currently short term approval of this toxic pesticide to 15 years - which is why we will be fighting even harder to stop them.

Left to Freeze

When news and pictures emerged of the conditions refugees in Serbia and Greece were living in this winter -- outdoors, barely surviving the freezing temperatures -- we sprung into action. We raised an outstanding €64,000 to go directly to the organisations helping people on the ground.

Part of the donations have gone to Refugee Aid Serbia helping those braving the cold in Belgrade, as well as Fresh Response, a movement helping those who are stuck on the Serbian/Hungarian border and who face police brutality daily.

Save the Soil

Soil is one of the most strategic resources of Europe as it ensures food security, biodiversity conservation and climate change regulation. It's time to protect the soils of Europe. Each passing minute, the soil is assaulted, suffocated, contaminated, exploited, poisoned, mistreated, and depleted. In Europe, there is no longer a specific law that protects the soil.

Die EU knickt beim Thema Emissionshandel ein

Das EU-Parlament hatte die Chance den Emissionshandel in Europa zu reformieren und zu einem wirklichen Werkzeug gegen Klimawandel und Umweltschutz zu machen. Sie knickten jedoch vor der Industrie ein und verpasste die Möglichkeit eine wirkliche Veränderung zu bewirken. Es sind viel zu viele Zertifikate auf dem Markt und der Preisdruck auf Verschmutzer damit gering. Am 28. Februar stimmt der Ministerrat über die Reform ab.
